PDP withdraws tomorrow's hartal call

Kerala-based PDP today withdrew its state-wide one-day hartal tomorrow, called to protest denial of bail as sought by its founder Abdul Nasser Madhani jailed in connection with Bengaluru blast case, after he made a request to this effect.
The hartal was called by the People's Democratic Party to protest denial of bail to Madhaniby a Bengaluru court yesterday for attending the wedding of his son on August 9.
The court had granted him bail from August 1 to 7 to visit his ailing mother but turned down his plea for the relief to attend the wedding.
The proposed protest was withdrawn on the request of Madhani, the party's Chairman, PDP Vice Chairman Poonthura Siraj said here.

Madhani had submitted the bail plea to attend the wedding of his son Umar Mukhthar to be held at Thalassery in Kerala on August 9.
Siraj said Madhani had also sought bail to vist his ailing mother.
The court had allowed bail from August 1 to 7 to visit his mother and he would have to return without attending the wedding of his son.
