Penpa Tsering appointed as Representative of Dalai Lama to US

"Prime Minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile" Lobsang Sangay has appointed Speaker of Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Penpa Tsering as Representative of the Dalai Lama to the US.
"If Penpa Tsering accepts the appointment by signing the Kashag circular, he will assume the office by July 1," a media report said.
The post is considered to be important in Tibetan community outside Tibet.
