Chief commissioner of Right to Services (RTS) Swadheen Kshatriya today appealed to the people to use the services under RTS through newly launched mobile app RTS Maharashtra and portal Aaple Sarkar.
Kshatriya was speaking to media after addressing the Nagpur divisional workshop which was attended by divisional commissioner Anoop Kumar, municipal commissioners and senior officials from police and other government departments.
Kshatriya said it is a challenge before the government to reach out to common man with the information and benefits of the RTS Act.
He added the services have still not properly reached to comman man.
"There is a need for spreading awareness among the people about the RTS Act," he said.
The services under RTS include giving death, birth, domicile, caste, income and various other certificates.
Citizens can apply for it online on the mobile app and also on Aaple Sarkar portal.
The chief commissioner informed that he has directed the concerned officials to hold a public awareness programme on August 15 at all the gram sabhas in Maharashtra regarding RTS.
Similarly, Aaple Sarkar centre will be started in every gram panchayat across Maharashtra, informed Kshatriya.
He also praised the work initiated in Nagpur division such as 'certificate at your doorstep' and 'firte kiosk' (mobile kiosk) initiative.
