Asserting that the people will judge BJP on basis of its performance both at the Centre as well as in the party-ruled states, Union minister Jitendra Singh today expressed hope that the party would form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir with a clear majority.
Addressing the party workers in Kathua, Minister of State in the PMO Singh said, "BJP will form the next government in Jammu and Kashmir... BJP is a nationalist party which works for the betterment of the all the sections of the society."
Singh received a rousing welcome on his arrival, first at Kathua and later at Billawar, where BJP candidates Rajiv Jasrotia and Nirmal Singh filed their nomination papers today for the two Assembly constituencies, respectively.
He said the people of the state were fed up with the "dynastic rule" and would give the BJP a chance to run the government in Jammu and Kashmir. "When the father leaves the position, he hands over the same to his son, thus the people of the state continue to suffer," he said.
People have judged BJP on the basis of its performance both at the Centre as well as in the party-ruled states, Singh said and claimed that the common man in Jammu and Kashmir is yearning to replicate the same model of governance as seen in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and other states.
This is a governance based on results and justice without any consideration of caste, creed or community, he added.
He said the Modi government was committed for the overall development of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
"There has never been a dearth of funds coming the way for this state, but the issue is its utilisation," he said, adding just like the people in Haryana and Maharashtra, the people in J&K too are fed up with the misrule in the state.
