A senior doctor of state- run PGIMS has been suspended for allegedly taking bribe for treatment, the hospital authorities said here today.
PGIMS vice chancellor Dr Sukhbir Singh Sangwan on Friday suspended R K Karwasara, Head of Surgery Department, with immediate effect on charges of taking money from patients for treatment, they said.
The action was taken after the hospital authorities received several complaints of bribery against Karwasara, officials said.
Karwasara is the son-in-law of jailed former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala's brother Pratap Singh Chautala.
PGIMS has also formed a three-member committee to probe into the matter, the officials said.
