Press Information Bureau today launched a webpage to mark Swami Vivekananda's birth anniversary, containing rare archival photographs and audio recordings of his speech at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893.
The webpage is linked to the PIB website, www.Pib.Nic.In. The slides on the website document Vivekananda's journey in a chronological way from early childhood days to his meeting with Ramakrishna Parahamsa, his tour across India and the world and his experience at the Parliament of Religions, said a government statement.
The page has been constructed from material obtained from the exhibition wing of DAVP, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math Howrah, Advaita Ashram Kolkota and Ramakrishna Mission New Delhi.
Features on Swami Vivekananda, by eminent journalists, is also a part of the page, the statement said.
