PIL posted for hearing next week

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court today posted for hearing next week a PIL seeking a direction to government to set up an expert committee to find if liquor supplied in state run liquor outlets contained harmful chemicals.
The petitioner K.K.Ramesh submitted "It is necessary to save the public from such harmful liquor supplied through the shops as they allegedly contained harmful ingredients."
It is the duty of the Government to ensure that poor quality liquor were not supplied in the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) liquor shops, the petitioner said.
