A pistol's rear portion and bullets were found abandoned in a government-run, Metropolitan Transport Corporation bus here today.
Days after the arrest of high profile extremists 'Police' Fakruddin and two others, the find has raised many eyebrows.
The broken rear half of the pistol, along with six bullets, were found beneath the conductor's seat, police said.
It was noticed by a sanitary employee when the bus was brought to the depot at Triplicane here for regular maintenance work.
Police seized the pistol and bullets.
