Plan panel releases Rs 300 cr for global event in Hyderabad

The Commission communicated this in a letter to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, his office said in a release tonight.

The State Government claims to be spending Rs 450 crore for organising the 'International Convention on Biodiversity' from October 1 to 19.

About 8,000 delegates from 193 countries, including Heads of State and Heads of Government, are expected to participate in the mega event. The Conference of Parties will also be held along with the convention.

The state capital is being decked up for the event, the first-of-its-kind being held in India.
