Plastic waste to be used for laying roads

The Perambalur Municipality will be the first local body in Tamil Nadu to use plastic waste for laying the roads by mixing it with bitumen.
The municipality had constructed a building for segregating the plastic waste at source.
The waste will be crushed and will be mixed with the black tar for laying the road. The municipality would also sell the plastic pellets for industries, a release said.
