PM is answerable to the House: CPI-M on conversion row

Justifying the opposition's demand for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's reply in Parliament on conversion issue, CPI-M MP Sitaram Yechury today said Modi is answerable to the House as he had admitted that he is responsible for all major policy decision of the government.
"After the oath-taking ceremony of the ministers, when portfolio was allocated, the notice said that the Prime Minister is responsible for major policy decisions to be taken by the Government. This is what they say, which is why we want the Prime Minister to talk.
"He has undermined the collective responsibility of the Cabinet. They themselves have declared that the Prime Minister is responsible. So let him answer the House," Yechury told reporters outside the Parliament.

The Rajya Sabha has been stalled since yesterday amid the Opposition's demand for a statement by the Prime Minister over the conversion row.
