PM to inaugurate 104th science congress in Tirupati on Jan 3

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the five-day 104th Indian Science Congress at the Sri Venkateswara University here on January 3, the organisers said today.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who played an active role in organising the event in this temple town would accompany Modi, General President of Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Prof D Narayanayana Rao said.
Nine Nobel prize winners --four in Physics, three in Chemistry and one each in Economics and Peace would also take part in the annual meet, he told PTI.
Besides them, about 200 scientists from different nations and about 10,000 scientists and scholars from across the country would participate in the event and exchange their views on a range of scientific and technological issues, of both national and international importance, Rao said.
Several Union and state ministers, MPs and MLAs besides luminaries including Prof C N R Rao, R Chidambaram, K Kasturirangan, Prof Ashuthosh Sharma, Prof Ajay Sood, Vijay Raghavan, V K Saraswat and G Sateesh Reddy would attend the meet, the official added.
