PMK today opposed the reported move to privatise the Heritage Nilgiris Mountain Rail, the major attraction in Nilgiris district.
Centre should drop the move and preserve the status of the century-old rail, PMK president G K Mani told reporters here.
Hinting that the present allies in NDA would continue and fight the 2016 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, he said "PMK will form the Government with the support of its allies."
Replying to a question on the walkouts staged by opposition DMK in the Assembly, Mani said the ruling AIADMK should hear the voice of the opposition and also give them importance, as it was also part of democracy.
Instead of concentrating on 'Amma' Canteens, medical shops and mineral water, the government should take steps to bring down the prices of essential commodities and provide protected drinking water to all sections of society, he said.
Mani alleged that the law and order situation was deteriorating in the state and government should rein in police department.
