The court has convicted K K Namdeo, the then Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, posted at Betul under provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, a CBI spokesperson said here today.
"CBI had registered a case on May 20, 2011 against K K Namdeo, the then Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Multai, Betul(MP) under section seven of PC Act 1988 on the allegation that Namdeo demanded bribe of Rs 56,000 from the complainant for getting loan of Rs 5.6 lakh, sanctioned and disbursed to him," the agency said in a statement.
"After investigation, a charge sheet under section seven and 13(2) read with 13(1)(d) of PC Act 1988 against Namdeo was filed on June 30, 2011 in the court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal.
"The trial court found the accused guilty and convicted him," it said.
