Head constable Gurvinder Singh and his friend Vakil Singh have been arrested in connection with the woman's murder case whose body was found lying in a field in Harieawala village here on September 27, SSP Kamaljit Singh Dhillon said.
Dhillon said the woman had gone to Moga to meet Gurvinder with whom she allegedly had illicit relations.
Gurvinder left her at the residence of his friend Vakil, who allegedly tried to rape her. When she resisted, he allegedly strangulated her to death, he said.
Kaura was found murdered at his shop on September 13. A camera, two mobiles, Rs 35,000 cash and a gold chain were found to be stolen, the SSP said.
Dhillon said Surjit had confessed to the crime.
Surjit was also allegedly involved in looting and injuring another photographer on September 27, he said.
