G Ravikumar, attached to a Woman police station under Eluru Two Town police station limits, allegedly made the attempt when the woman was alone at her residence, police said.
"The superintendent of police has suspended Ravikumar based on the charges levelled against him," a police official said, adding a case has been registered against Ravikumar and investigation is on.
