Police fire in air to disperse violent mob
Press Trust of India Vadodara Following a clash between two groups of the same community, police fired three rounds in the air to disperse the mob at Dhaniavi village in the Vadodara district today.
District superintendent of police Sandeep Kumar said two groups clashed with guns and sharp weapons over an alleged incident of eve-teasing.
Singh rushed to the spot with an additional force to control the situation. "When they refused to back down, we fired three rounds in the air, which scattered the mob. No one was injured. We have arrested 24 persons and recovered a gun and swords from them," he told PTI.
