Police officer dies under suspicious circumstances

A 27-year-old sub-inspector today died of bullet injuries at Kerameri police station premises under suspicious circumstances in Telangana's Adilabad district, police said.
K Sridhar, suffered head injuries allegedly after his service weapon went off accidentally, at around 9.30 AM at the police station premises, a senior police officer said, adding he was rushed to a hospital in Asifabad where he succumbed to his injuries.
However, it is still not clear whether it was due to misfire or he resorted to suicide, the police officer said, adding they were awaiting postmortem report.
Sridhar, a native of Sircilla mandal of Karimnagar district had joined as a SI with Kerameri Police Station just two-days ago after serving as a trainee for the past few months. Further probe is on.
