Police recovers two cell-phones from prisoner

Police today recovered two mobile phones from a prisoner lodged in a local jail, putting the authorities of the high security prison under the scanner.
This is the second case within two months where mobile phones were found being used despite high-power jammers installed in the jail premises.
Sudha Tripathi, a resident of Mumbai, had complained to Sangrur SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu that she was getting threat calls from Abhishek Tyagi from Sangrur jail to give him money or she along with her family would be liquidated
The accused was lodged in Sangrur jail in June in a fraud case.

In her complaint, she said that she came in contact with the accused through a matrimony website.
She claimed that the accused had taken around Rs 11.5 lakh from her, claiming that his company had undergone losses.

Sangrur SHO Harinder Singh said the extortion amount was confirmed from transfer of amount out of Sudha's bank accounts.
The SHO said he took search warrants from a local court and raided the jail premises today and recovered two phones used frequently by him to extort money from Sudha.
Hina Joshi, who was living with accused for last about two and a half years, also used to make threatening calls to Sudha and she was also apprehended by Sangrur police.
