Police seizes stolen booty worth Rs 5.76 lakh from burglers

The police arrested three burglers who were allegedly involved in a series of thefts in Mumbra and Kausa, a senior police official announced here today.
Addressing a press conference here DCP Zone I Sachin Patil told reporters that the police has seized stolen booty worth around Rs 5.76 lakh from the three burglers who had carried out a series of thefts in the recent past.
The burglers were identified as Shahzad Ansari (22), his elder sister Farida Ansari (23) and a 17-year-old tenager, who are all residents of Kausa.
Farida Ansari is a divorcee, while her brother Shahzad Ansari is a school dropout, whose father passed away a couple of years ago after which they took to burglary, the police official said.

Two of the burglers have been remanded to judicial custody while the teenager has been sent to the Bhiwandi remand home, the police official said.
