Inspector In-Charge of Bhadreswar police station Anudyuti Majumdar said Singh's rally was to be held at 3 PM but it was started after 4.30 PM, so we requested the BJP leadership to postpone the rally.
Majumdar said the request was made as the Trinamool Congress had obtained permission to take out a rally at the same place at that time.
Singh alleged that Trinamool Congress workers had stopped his convoy at Tarakeshwar in Hooghly district some days ago and today the police stopped him from holding the rally.
