Police van driver killed while chasing trailer

A driver of a PCR van was killed and three others were injured during a chase when an uncontrolled trailer hit it from behind, police said today.
The van driver, Sriram Meena (40), died on the way to the hospital, while three others travelling in the vehicle are undergoing treatment, they said.
The accident occurred near Gopalpura flyover when the PCR van chased the trailer but its driver did not stop.
After a long chase the PCR van driver overtook the trailer, which then hit into the van, toppling it several times, said officials from Baja Nagar police station.
While Meena was killed, the other suffered serious injuries, they said.

The trailer driver, Vishnu Meena, had fled the spot, but was later arrested and a case has been lodged against him at Bajaj Nagar police station.
