Policemen, locals injured in clash in UP

Some policemen and locals were today injured during a clash between the two sides after the latter protested against Kanhar dam project in Amavar village in Dudhi area here, police said.
At about 5.30 AM today, a group of persons, displaced due to the project, reached the site and chased away labourers working there, police said.
Later, police reached the spot and tried to control them but they attacked the cops with sticks and pelted stones on them, following which the police opened fire in the air to disperse the mob.
In the clash, both police and locals were injured.
