"Transfer of good civil administration and police officials in quick succession without sufficient grounds under political pressure has created anarchic conditions in the state," state BJP spokesperson Munna Singh Chauhan alleged.
"People in several districts are hitting the streets against such unwarranted transfers," he claimed.
Asserting that such transfers and postings are being made to "please sulking party leaders", Chauhan claimed that rattled by revolt from within the party, Chief Minister Harish Rawat is "ready to go to any extent to assuage flared tempers and keep his flock together".
"If well performing officials continue to be transferred as part of a political deal what will happen to the state's development?" he asked.
People in Uttarkashi sat on a dharna recently protesting the transfer of District Magistrate Shridhar Babu Addanki within a month.
Udhamsingh Nagar SSP Aanant Shankar Takwale was transferred to Ramanagar and brought back within a fortnight. Similarly, District Magistrate Akshat Gupta was transferred recently.
