The anti-drug task force of Pithoragarh police arrested a student of a polytechnic college after 7.02 grams of smack was found in his possession, a senior police official said.
"Nirankush Kumar, a student of a polytechnic college near Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar district, was arrested when the anti-drug task force personnel were checking a vehicle near the town," Superintendent of Police Ramchandra Rajguru said.
The contraband seized from him is worth Rs 75,000, he said.
The accused is a resident of Timta village in Gangolihat sub division, Rajguru said.
He has been charged under sections of the NDPS Act, the SP added.
