Police said Sandip Mukhopadhyay (around 21), student of a polytechnic institute of Abhirampur under Ausgram police station area was travelling to his home in neighbouring Bankura district on July 28 in an overcrowded bus when he tripped and fell on the road below from the moving vehicle at Jamtara stop.
He was first taken to Jamtara Health Centre after being recognised by some polytechnic staff present there and from there to a private hospital in Durgapur and succumbed to his head and other wounds due to the fall today.
Police said as of now there was no hint of foul play, prima facie but they were looking behind the circumstances.
