: Opposition AIADMK (Amma) today took strong exception to the "sustained criticism and comments" being made by Puducherry Lt Governor Kiran Bedi against elected representatives through her twitter handle.
"It is indeed odd and perplexing that Kiran Bedi,a strong critic of the elected representatives, will present the customary address on the opening day of the budget session slated to begin on May 16," AIADMK (Amma) Legislature wing leader A Anbalagan told reporters here.
She has been a "publicity monger" and has been using Twitter and other social media platforms to pass comments on the elected representatives, he alleged.
The AIADMK (Amma) would "register its appropriate protest against her," he added.
Anbalagan claimed that the Union Territory ranks very low in the 'clean cities' scheme of the Centre. This only confirmed that Bedi's mission of 'Swachh Bharat' was proving to be a failure in Puducherry, he said.
"When she had been relentlessly passing comments on elected representatives it is indeed odd and amusing that she had been scheduled to present customary address on the opening day of the forthcoming budget session of the Puducherry Assembly on May 16', he rued. PTI COR ROH
On April 24, Bedi had termed as not true, the criticism of elected representatives through media that she had not been inviting them during her field visits and said
She said they were always invited to join her during her weekend visits to various areas and her office Raj Bhavan has a log of all messages sent to them.
"But the elected members do not however turn up, but later inform the media that they were not invited. It is not true," she had said in a release.
