unidentified militants were recovered by bomb experts of Manipur police from Singjamei bridge here and defused.
The bomb was planted below the bridge, which connects Imphal East and Imphal West districts and was seen hanging wrapped by a plastic bag by passersby last evening, the police said today.
The people reported it to the police and bomb experts rushed to the spot at about midnight and confirmed it was a powerful bomb.
The bomb was defused at a safe place, the police said adding no outfit claimed responsibity for planting the bomb.
