Prabhu lays foundation stone for railway projects in MP

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today laid foundation stone of Rs 2,200 crore projects for laying broad gauge connecting Rewa-Sidhi-Singrauli districts and the new Sidhi railway station building in Madhya Pradesh.
At the function in Sidhi, he said 900-km railway lines will be constructed and 1,000-km tracks will be double lined and electrified in next three years.
In Jabalpur, Prabhu said to give a fillip to the electrification programme in India, a meeting has been organised on November 3 in New Delhi.
In West Central Railways, the electrification of railway line is being carried out on Katni-Singrauli route and Itarsi-Katni-Manikpur section, the railway minister said addressing a function.
He also dedicated WiFi internet facility, water vending machine and multi-functional complex at Jabalpur station.
The Minister heaped praises on Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and described him as "one of the visionary chief ministers".
An investment in railways in Madhya Pradesh is bound to benefits the entire country as trains from the state run to north, south, east and west, Prabhu said.
He called Chouhan to come out with the model plan for railway investment in the state to expand the rail network.
Till year 2014, the funds allocation for various railways projects going on in MP was Rs 632 crore, which have now increased to Rs 2,171 crore by the Centre, Prabhu added.
