Pre-dawn showers lash Delhi

Pre-dawn showers lashed the national capital today keeping the mercury within normal levels even as humidity shot up.
The Safdarjung weather station recorded a rainfall of 20.2 mm in the last 24 hours till 8.30 AM while observatories at Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Ayanagar received 24.2, 3.8, 17.9 and 15.7 mm rains during the same period.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 23.7 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average, said a senior MeT department official.
Humidity was recorded at 92 per cent at 8.30 AM.
The MeT has forecast overcast conditions with a possibility of few more spells of rain and thundershowers for rest of the day.
"The maximum temperature is expected to settle at 32 degrees," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 23.2 degrees Celsius while the maximum settled at 32.2 degrees Celsius.
