Prepare details for development work in backward region: Hr CS

Haryana Chief Secretary D S Dhesi today issued directions to officials for preparing details of various development works to be carried out under the Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) scheme to timely receive the grants for these projects from the Centre.
In Haryana, Sirsa and Mahendragarh districts of the state are covered under BRGF scheme and Central Government provides grant for development works in these districts.
The Chief Secretary was presiding over the 11th meeting of High Powered Committee of BRGF here today, said an official statement.
In the meeting, Dhesi reviewed the works undertaken and expenditure made under the scheme during the financial year 2014-15, it said.
Dhesi directed the officers to ensure quality in the ongoing development works and to accelerate the pace so that these could be completed on time, the statement added.
Under BRGF, works related to basic infrastructure, minimum basic needs, animal husbandry, literacy and education, women and child development, health and medical care, urban development, drinking water and cleanliness are undertaken.
As many as Rs 9.55 crore has been spent on development works in Mahendragarh till December during the financial year 2014-15 and work on various other projects is under progress.
Similarly, Rs 4.45 crore has been spent on development works in Sirsa district.
