Press Council issues notice to Organiser

The Press Council of India has issued a show-cause notice to Organiser weekly on a complaint alleging that its article related to Kerala showed the state in "poor light".
The notice was issued to the Organiser weekly, considered close to the RSS, on December 16 and it has been given 14 days time to respond from the date it is served.
The complaint filed by one Nidheesh P, a resident of Delhi and a member of the Kerala Shastra Sahitya Parishat, alleged that the article titled "Kerala; God's own Country or Godless Country" defamed and demoralised the culture and civilisation of the citizens of Kerala.

It further alleged that the article is false with the intention of creating communal riots in the name of religion and food habits among peacefully living people in the state.
The article had kicked up a furore in the state with parties across the political spectrum condemning it.
