The President along with Delhi Chief Minster Sheila Dikshit, who was also present for the ceremony, visited all eight shops in the shopping complex and interacted with the staff there.
These shops in the President's Estate Market have been in existence since the pre-Independence era, out of which six shops were alloted recently. This includes a Safal Outlet, Kendriya Bhandar and a Shakti Haat.
A beauty parlour and a men's hair cutting saloon are also part of the new complex.
The President also interacted with members of the SHGs and appreciated the work done by them.
The renovated complex responds to a long-standing desire of employees of the Rashtrapati Bhavan and their families living in the President's Estate to have a full-fledged commercial establishment catering to all their requirements.
