Prez meets probationers of Indian Defence Accounts Service

President Pranab Mukherjee today asked probationers of Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) to do well to make a vital contribution through faster and efficient decision-making and enabling the Defence forces to meet their requirements on time.
The President said that Defence expenditure has increased manifold since the time of India's Independence. "This sharp rise in Defence expenditure is commensurate with the requirements of maintaining a modern Defence force in our country," he said.
The onus of managing the finances has thus increased in proportion, complexity and dimension, Mukherjee told a group of probationers of IDAS 2013 batch, who met him at Rashtrapati Bhavan here.

He said that the probationers would do well to make a vital contribution through faster and efficient decision- making, without compromising on rules and procedures, and yet enabling the Defence forces to meet their requirements on time.
