Shiv Dayal, aged around 40 years, used to assist the priest of a Shiv temple in Luharia village.
Dayal hanged himself from the tree at the back of the temple this morning when the priest had gone out of the village, Chiman Lal, SHO, Bhadsoda police station said.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Initial investigation indicated that he used to consume Ganja and was not mentally fit and stable, Lal said, adding, the body has been handed over to the family.
