Priyanka Gandhi arrived here this afternoon amid tight security to see the progress of her under construction house on the outskirts of the city.
The daughter of Congress president Sonia Gandhi reached Chandigarh by plane and drove straight to the site and stayed there for about two hours.
Accompanied by her architect, Priyanka inspected the progress of work and gave instructions to the contractor to expedite the work, sources said.
Priyanka had come to Shimla last month along with her mother.
Her visit was kept a guarded secret and no local Congress leader or official were informed about it.
Tight security arrangements were made for the visit and entry of general public was barred in the area.
