Speaker of Goa legislative assembly Pramod Sawant has ordered an inquiry after one of the answers which was supposed to be tabled during the upcoming assembly session was leaked.
Sawant has directed chief secretary Dharmendra Sharma to conduct the inquiry.
The matter came to light after social activist Kashinath Shetye put up the question and answer on his social media networking page.
Shetye is also an employee of the electricity department of the Goa government.
The question tabled by Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral was supposed to be tabled during the fortnight long assembly session which is scheduled to begin from tomorrow.
"We have already filed a complaint against Kashinath Shetye and an unknown official from the government department with the chief secretary when we noticed that the answer was already uploaded on his page on a social media website," Sawant told reporters here today.
"The question which is sent by legislator comes to my office from where it goes to the concerned department for reply.
"The reply is then sent back to my office and it is sent to the MLA," the Speaker explained.
"In this case, the question and its answer was uploaded on the Facebook account of Shetye even before it is sent to the MLA.
So there must a leakage either from the concerned government department or from my office. The inquiry will reveal the details," Sawant said.
Cabral, who had tabled the question, has also moved the matter to privilege committee who will take appropriate decision in the matter.
"We don't know who has leaked it. It might be leaked through the government department or Kashinath Shetye himself who is also a government servant," Sawant said.
