Professor falls into pit; dies

A professor at a private college was killed today after he fell into a pit dug by the local municipal body for laying sewer lines, police said.
Divya Kumar Nigam, 32, had gone for a morning walk when he accidentally fell in the pit filled with water near the community centre in Dhanvantri Nagar area, they said.
Locals immediately took him out and rushed him to the Government Medical College but he was declared dead on admission.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigations are on, police added.
