Proposal for Haj House at Vijayawada sent to Govt

Krishna district collector Babu A today said the administration had submitted a proposal to the Andhra Pradesh government for construction of a Haj House for Haj pilgrims at an estimated cost of Rs 145 crore in the city.
The collector today held a review meeting on various issues of the minority communities.
He also asked the officials to clear the encroachments on Wakf Board land. Of 2,663 acres of Wakf land in the district, about 1,900 acres is under encroachments.
Rs 2.3 cr have been sanctioned for construction of Urdu Junior College building in city and Rs 6 crore for construction of Shadi Khanas (marriage halls) in the district, he said.
