Commissioner for Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) N Srikanth issued a press release here today announcing that proposals have been drafted to submit to the Andhra Pradesh state government to constitute a police commissionarate for CRDA limits.
CRDA limits comprise 21 tehsils in both Krishna and Guntur districts.
The release said that he convened a review meeting with district collectors of Krishna, Guntur and West Godavari as well as police officials including the Vijayawada Police Commissioner to discuss the issue.
He said that most officials who attended the meeting favour common limits for both revenue department and the police to make administration easier, the release said.
He said that CRDA's proposed expansion would include a population of about 60 lakh in an area of 7,500 square kilometres.
