An FIR has been lodged and the main accused has been taken into custody, Additional Superintendent of Police, Shakeel Ahmed Khan said.
According to the officer, a youth posted an objectionable comment and picture of a religious figure on WhatsApp leading to the tension and protests.
The protesters gheraoed the Konch kotwali this morning for over two hours and the situation was normalised only after additional police force arrived, Khan said.
Police have been deployed in strength and senior officials were camping in Konch kotwali, Khan added.
