Congress also said they would be launching "Har Har Mombatti, Ghar Ghar Mombatti" agitation to awaken the deaf and dump BJP Government at the Centre.
Angry protesters and Congressmen, in northeast Delhi, burned effigies of Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal holding him responsible for the crisis.
The agitators, jointly led by DPCC president Arvinder Singh Lovely, Jai Prakash Agarwal and Mukesh Sharma, also tried to enter Delhi BJP office demanding immediate improvement in the power supply situation.
The angry women protesters also broke pots, kept outside the party office, to vent their ire at the severe water shortage and shouted slogans against the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party.
"Power situation in east and northeast Delhi has reached an explosive situation. In the coming days, not only the common people will stage chakka jam, but they may resort other methods of protests," Lovely said.
He termed Goyal's surprise check last night as "a political gimmick" and asked if it was a surprise check and how then did the media come to know about his visit.
DPCC chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma said Congress workers would distribute candles among the people from tomorrow as part of the "Har Har Mombatti, Ghar Ghar Mombatti" agitation to awaken the deaf and dump BJP Government at the Centre.
