PTM Sunish to participate in US leadership programme

: Kerala State Women's Development Corporation managing director P T M Sunish, who spearheaded a number of successful pro-women innovations including "She-Taxi", has been selected to the prestigious "International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP)", being organised by the US government.
The one-month programme, conducted by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, is one of the most prestigious professional exchange programmes of America for international opinion leaders, a corporation release said here today.
The success of various entrepreneurship models, which he implemented in the state, has found him a place among the 26 selected representatives from around the world in the programme, it said.

Sunish, also the first CEO of Gender Park, an initiative of Kerala Government's Social Justice Department, is the driving force behind the innovative programmes like "REACH", a professional grooming academy for girls with placement and "She-Toilet", an electronic toilet system for women.
This year's IVLP, titled "Change-Makers: The Impact of Social Entrepreneurs in the U.S", is envisaged to connect current and emerging foreign leaders with their American counterparts and create a positive impact on the participants to address global challenges and opportunities, it said.
It will examine the rise of social entrepreneurship in the U.S. And how innovation can drive social and environmental change. The programme will also examine the concept of social entrepreneurship as well as government initiatives that support civic engagement and innovation, it said.

The programme will be held in Washington DC in August, release added.
