"As per our information, there was some disposal of explosive material in the Dehu Road area in morning and after the disposal, scrap dealers usually collect such material," a police officer said.
There is an Ordnance factory in Dehu Road cantonment area.
He added that the woman, who collected the object took it home and while breaking the same it exploded.
The woman along with her two children, a boy and a girl, sustained injuries in the explosion, said the police.
All the three were rushed to a hospital and they are said to be out of danger.
"We will investigate what was the object that exploded," said the officer.
