Punjab Chief Minister gives nod to form Wakf Board

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has given his nod to constitute the Wakf Board in the state under Wakf Act, 1995.
It was cleared by the Chief Minister last evening, a spokesperson said.
As per the decision, F Nesara Khatoon (Farzana Alam) would be the member from MLA category, while Gazi Mohammed Umair from Bar council and Mohammed Usman Qureshi from professional category.
While Syed Sadiq Hussain Naqvi and Shamim Ahmad Qazim would represent Shia and Sunni scholars in the board, Showkat Ahmad Parray, an IAS officer, would be the member from government officer category, the spokesperson said.
Dilbagh Hussain and Manju Qureshi have been nominated members under section 14(3) of State Wakf Board.
