Punjab fair price shop owners meet Bajwa

A delegation of Punjab fair price shop owners today met Punjab Congress Chief Partap Singh Bajwa and sought his intervention in getting their demands accepted by the central government.
Accusing the SAD-BJP led state government of not addressing their issues, they said they were not being given any salary or commission by the union government or the state government for distributing subsidised foodgrains.
The delegation said that the state authorities were shifting the responsibility on central government whereas they have been working on behalf of the state government to implement 'Atta-Dal' scheme.
The depot holders further said that they were paying the local carriage expenses from their pocket and were facing difficult to survive under the given circumstances.

They requested Bajwa to take up their demands with the central government, to which Bajwa assured them of doing the needful.
As many as 26,000 fair price shop owners have been on strike for the last 45 days, protesting against state government for not addressing their issues.
