The CLP leader met Union Minister of Social Justice in New Delhi today and apprised her that for 2013-14, Rs 280.81 crore was released for the scheme to help SC Post Matric class students but till date not a single penny has reached the needy students.
"Also the fund of Rs 50 crore released under the same scheme in 2011-12 too has not reached the students," he claimed in a statement here.
He requested the Minister to consider extending the benefits of the scheme to students of all economically backward families.
"The disbursal of funds is the responsibility of the state government and the minister said that she will inquire into the matter of delay by Punjab Government," Jakhar claimed.
