Punjab govt sets up 6 advisory committees for wildlife

Punjab government today constituted advisory committees for six wildlife sanctuaries under the purview of Patiala district.
Informing this, a spokesperson said that these committees have been formed under the Wildlife Protection Act for Bir Bhadson, Bir Bhunarheri, Bir Motibag, Bir Gurdialpura, Bir Dosanjh, and Bir Mains wildlife sanctuaries.
These committees would advice the government about the conservation and proper management of the sanctuaries keeping the convenience of the people living in nearby areas, he said.
A notification regarding this has also been issued by the Principal Secretary, Forest and Wildlife Preservation and Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) has been appointed the Chairman, the spokesperson said.
