"In the initial stage there is a proposal to install cameras and digital video recorders in 100 buses, 18 depots and three bus stands," a spokesperson of the Transport Department said here today.
"E-tender has been invited from the reputed registered firms/companies for this purpose," he said.
Notably,on April 29, a woman and her teenage daughter were allegedly molested and thrown off a running bus in Moga, leaving the girl dead and mother seriously wounded.
There are nearly 90 bus stands in the state while over 3,000 Punjab Roadways and Punbus buses ply on the roads.
