Audit, tax and consultancy firm PwC India today said it has opened a subsidiary in Bangladesh to cater to the rising opportunities there.
The subsidiary will offer services in the advisory and taxation verticals and will be headed by Mamun Rashid, who has been appointed as the partner in-charge, PwC said in a statement.
The company, a part of what are referred to as the 'big four', has been operating in Bangladesh for many years and setting up of this subsidiary in Dhaka is in line with the rising importance of Bangladesh in a global business scenario.
"We believe Bangladesh is on a growth trajectory and look forward to be a part of this momentum by increasing our ground presence to offer our global expertise," PwC India Chairman Deepak Kapoor said.
On the hiring front, the statement said it will recruit from local educational institutions and also work with professional organisations to develop skills.
The company has taken up a 8,000-sq-ft space in the capital city of Dhaka, which will get operational in 3-4 months, it added.
